Just picked up a factory power steering setup for my 400D (with the Behlen unit). I'm now in the process of installing the proportioning valve and hydraulic block. I think that I understand how to complete the installation except for one issue. I can't figure out where the return hydraulic line goes (the largest line from the power steering unit). Does it just thread into the reservoir someplace? Thanks for any help.

They used a tee in the drain hole for reservior.Plug in one side ,hose in other.Did you put the plug in orffice between inside control valve and reservior post?

Hi Dave,

I just picked up a factory Behlen set up for my 350. A shop in town is putting it on for me. Could you elaborate on the "plug in the orffice". Is there more to it than just adding to steering motor, priority valve, inside control valve, and the U shaped line?

Behind inside valve there is three ports.I have to look and double check most times because I don't trust my memory, but think its the lower port that has to be pluged or it won't work. The original just slides in with a oring to seal.If plug not available I tap hole with pipe tap and use allen head plug in hole.It needs to go in flush.Best to do before mounting regulator priority valve. You can blow through port to get metal cuttings out.
