Correct IHC gauges???

Why doesn't anybody make the correct "IHC" labled gauges for early tractors. Antique Gauges makes ones with the correct logo but have plastic needles and plastic lenses. The other repros I have seen have the newer style IH logo with a "C"
around it instead of the correct "IHC" emblem. There is one other place that had ads in some of the magazines a while back that had the correct logo, but the needles were the wrong style. Why would these companies go to all the trouble to make repros, then make them with the wrong logo?
It would have been just as easy to make the correct logo. Was it a licensing thing or did they just screw up? I guess my tractors will have old ugly correct gauges rather than new shiny
incorrect ones.

Have you tried OEM?
They order Gauges diret from Rochester Gauge Company, who was the supplier to IH in the 40's 50's and 60"s
They then put the correct metal face in them and have glass lenses.
Price is high for me. $136 for a set of 3 seems high.
But if you want to be correct, I guess its the next best to NOS.

I think the main problem is that the "correct police" aren't the ones designing and marketing the gauges. It's some guy that has more than a passing interest in tractors looking to make a few bucks, who can't be bothered to make sure the gauges are correct.

Here's my solution: Triple-gauge cluster, Harbor Freight, $9.99 on sale. Pull them out of the brackets install in the tractor. Work great. Look great. No logos to worry about :) In fact, they're probably the same internally as the reproduction gauges.

Only you and a couple of us will ever notice they are not totally "correct". The new almost right ones with the IHC logo look much better than some of the worn out, scaled up, broken faced, faded out originals, as far as I'm concerned, especially on a restored tractor.

I may have a few NOS IHC marked oil gauges for the H & M, and somewhere I have a NOS 3-hole oil gauge for one of the F-series era tractors

Most of the aftermarket, reproduction items are manufactured either in Turkey, China, or Taiwan. I think the factorys in those countries are under license to the companies they produce for, but apparently IH, JD, and others do not perform any good quality checks to insure that the end product meets the specs, and obviously the folks that work in those factories don't care.

Did you just break the glass? If you"re real patient and careful you can get it apart and replace the glass. If you don"t want to try, I"ll pay the shipping to send it to me!

Broken glass was the initial problem...then came the brilliant idea for me to try to open it up...I'll dig it out and see if it's worth sending to you. It may take a day or two...I've got so many projects going on this week I hardly know where I am!!
