Terry, That little "wedge" thingy will drive you right to the edge of your sanity. It is the correct part. It sets in there really wacky and catty-wampus, not at all like your mind is trying to tell you how it should fit because that gauge bracket is not mounted "square to the world" in the first place. If you're putting it on an H, use your original bracket and yes, you've got to wobble out a couple of holes for it. The trick is where to put those darned mounting holes. It's been a couple of years ago since I did mine, but as I recall, the thick part of the wedge will end up at about the 5 o'clock position when viewed from the seat. This kicks that motor off to the right and down. The best way I can describe it is that you have to "imagine" it's installation in your minds eye first. The torque motor has to set in there in such a way as to clear the hood, while at the same time it has to point slightly down and over to the right to align with the front steering shaft coming back from that hole in the radiator up front. Then, guess what? After you get the motor setting in there in such a way as to be pointing directly at that hole in the radiator , you get to cut off that front shaft to the correct length. But, it has got to be exact. Good luck, Allan
