Have you thought about adding a 3-point hitch, to have a 'hog you can raise & lower w/touch control and easily back into tight places? You would need the IH rear fender-mounted rockshaft and a linkage rod to the front touch-control rockshaft as used with the IH cultivators for the SA. A 3-point for the SA is a fairly simple bolt-on collection of pieces, if you have the rear rockshaft (it's a bolt-on also), but I don't know about availablity.
This setup has worked well for me since the 60's, but that old (genuine) "Bush Hog", when lifted completely off the ground, does make the tractor a bit light in the front. The SA PTO is directly driven from the tractor's transmission, so when using a 'hog, the inertia of the spinning blades also drives the tractor's wheels which means quick stops are not possible, unless the 'hog is equipped with an overrunninig clutch. Without that clutch, some stopping practice in a clear area is a must, else you could run into/over something where you didn't really want to go (pond, ditch, tree, etc.).
