856 Lost Hydraulics?

Good evening, I have an 856 that has lost hydraulic function only at the remotes. The 3-point still functions as it should. Since both use the same pump, how could only the remotes cause trouble? When hooked to a cylinder, they will extend it if it has no load (if the cylinder is not attached to an implement), but when attached to a plow, etc., it does not have enough pressure to lift. Even at full throttle it will not lift any implement more than a couple of inches. The 3-point still lifts heavy loads effortlessly. Thanks in advance for any help with this problem.

First thing i would do is replace the couplers then install a pressure gauge and see what ya got . I have seen couplers go bad and sometimes they will work then all of a sudden just stop i had one on my 706 that would work fine if you feathered it but if ya want to just drop the emplement like the planter or plow it would start to work and just stop if thats not it then your going to have to get inside and start looking . for a stuck valve or broken spring, , this is a new one on me so maybe one of the other old IH mechanic may hae run into this one.

Tractor vet, thanks for the incite. My local dealer suggested to start by replacing the pressure relief valve under the seat. I am wondering if the remote system really uses a separate pressure relief valve than the 3-point or if they both operate from same one? If they use the same one, it wouldn"t make sense to me that the 3-point would still function as it should. ALso wondering if any IH guys can tell me what the "blocks" that the remote hoses come out of on back of tracor are called and what is their purpose? My Dad has a 756 on which the remotes lift fine but when lowering planter, etc., it lets down in small, rapid increments, creating a violent shaking motion which is VERY hard on planter units. My Dad"s local dealer told him to eliminate those "blocks" altogether to solve the problem. He has not done so yet. I am not sure if they serve as a one-way valve, or what. I am curious if they could be the culprit on my 856 too???
