Thanks for the information. Rusty, I wonder why the vent caps are present at the top of the cylinders if that end is to return oil to the belly pump? This is a lift only system I think, which is why I thought the vents were there. We have had this tractor for 50 years and it has always been set-up this way. It will lift pretty high minus the leaking oil from the right vent. I don't know that much about hydraulics, but I would guess once the pump pushes out its reserve of oil the loader would stop lifting. Correct? But at no time should it leak? I have a parts book for the H, but I don't think my grandfather ever had anything on the loader. Thanks again for everyone's information.

I have the breakdown of that cylinder scanned from the parts book. I am trying to upload it to my photobucket page, usually works good but today the system seems a bit glitchy. Once I get it done I will post it here.

Might be hard to tead, but if you copy into "my pictures", and print it out, I think you will be able to read it.

If there are two hoses to each cylinder, the top of the cylinder is used as a resivoir. If there is only one hose, then the resivoir is in the belly pump, or a tank, or the frame of the loader.

If there are two hoses on the cyl. that is leaking, the return hose may be restricted/kinked/ or blocked. Or the system might be overfilled (less likely)

If there is only one hose, the piston cup (or leather) is bypassing oil and it needs to be rebuilt. It is not too tough to do.
