2400A Loader Tractor - Max Bid

Okay, I'm still looking for a utility type loader tractor!

There is a 2400A on ebay right now and so far the price is in range. It looks to be in decent shape except the tin is all beat up on the front and top. Is this the sign of an abused tractor that just got some lipstick on it?

I'm posting the link if anyone wants to give me an idea on a maximum bid for it. I'm thinking $3,500 or so since it will cost me $1,000 or so to get hauled to Texas.

Thanks for any input or advice.

Nathan

Well the tractor ended up going for $4,212.

Maybe one of these years I'm going to find a good one in my price range.

Wish I knew what one was worth. I have an IH 574 (identical to the 2500A) with a front loader. From looking at the pictures on the link, I think the tractor has definitely been repainted. Who knows what sins are covered up? From recent personal experience the rebuild kit for the seals in the loader cylinders run around $45 each at the IH dealer. Don"t expect to find any part on the tractor that is very much less. Finally, from the looks of the front axle style, your tractor was probably built in England. I don"t know if this will affect parts availability or not.

Nathan, The value seems reasonable to me. If and only if the sheet metal dammage is just that, and the remainder is as advertised. Ask the seller for a price adjustment upon inspection and operation to repair defects which he claims are good in the offer to sell. Or the right of refusal on inspection of mechanical systems.

Loaders get bashed and work well dented. If the mechanical systems are as described it seems from here to be good.
