Steve, I can appreciate the being financially solid before making the decsion on kids, but if that is what you are waiting for, you more than likely will not ever feel finacially secure enough to have kids. I went through that difficulty 22 years ago, kept telling the wife(ex now) we cannot afford kids, but we made do, it was probably the hardest thing I ever done, do I regret it, NO, my kids and now grandkids are everything to me. I been broke most of my life, had to drive $500.00 cars, keep working on them to keep 'em on the road and safe and legal. I worked a full time job, then worked in the garage in the evenings to make a little extra, I guess that is the American way. Being broke and raising kids kinda keeps you humble, it teahces you what life is all about. The time will get there when your wife will tell you, I am pregnant, then all the worries will go out the door, that will be the most fantastic feeling you will ever have, there is NO way to describe that feeling. You know the thing that amkes me mad about things is, when I was young trying to raise kids, had NO money, I paid full price for everything, now my kids are all raised and gone except one, am getting in a fincially secure position, now evey one wants to offer me a senior discount. I do not need a senior discount now, I needed it when I had 5 kids needing fed and clothed. Steve, do not fret this kind of thing, when the time comes, the time will be here, you will have kids, you will be happy, maybe broke, but you will be happy. Money can never buy happiness, the joy of kids will outweight any fincial worries.
