I was wondering if anyone here has turboed a 560 diesel with something other than an IH or M&W. I have a 560 with a fresh engine and new pump set at stock 1800 rpm.I also have a nearly new turbo for a 2.5L dodge caravan engine. I was wondering about things like oil supply? How much flow is needed? How much pressure also? I can build the mounts and intake and exhaust plumbing. The other thing I was wondering is, will my diesel have too much exhaust flow for the little 4 cyl gas engine turbo? I"m open to all opinions.

Man, I'd love to see that! It gives me new ideas for ways to tweak older machines. I've always been more of a redneck mechanic than anything, but I have never heard of turbocharging a tractor with a car turbo. No excuse it wouldn't work! Gives me inspiration to do some other things, too....

Just tap into the oil galley and run a 1/4" line to the turbo and a 3/4" drain line to the fuel pump drive gear access hole. The car turbo you have is probably bigger than you need, but will likely only make about half the boost you want. Gassers usually only run 6-10PSI. Figure out how many CFM the car motor was moving at 5500RPM and ???150 CID verses your 282CID at 2500RPM. It'll work if you keep it in the range of boost it was meant to work at.

I put one of those turbos on a Oliver 880 and made all the fittings even used the wastegate.Oil pressure line out of the oil gallary like where the oil guage is connected and oil return back into the block. That turbo really sings at 10lb. boost.

I wouldn't think that little turbo would be worth the effort to put on.Go to a junkyard and find something off a newer IH or whatever.I know of a guy that put one off I think a 1206 on a 44 Massey diesel for nonsanctioned tractor pulling. Rear tires were converted to 23.1x26's and it would spinout. It was built redneck style,no money spent and would put on quite a show.Still runs and hasn't hurt anybody " yet".I don't like to get to close to it.
