Can anyone give me an idea of what it would cost to get a Super A shipped from Washington State to Minnesota?

If I were you I would post your need including what you can spend on the hauling site. You might be surprized. I recently tried to buy a tractor in upper Main ( a 2200 mile trip one way ) and the bids I got ranged from $2000 to $1200. I chose to not buy that tractor but instead bought one 750 miles away and got it hauled for $500.Even with $2.50 fuel there are good deals out there. I figured I could have hauled it myself for $400 but the wear and tear on my truck and trailer wasn't worth the $100 out of pocket savings.

I had a tractor hauled 800 miles by a hauler I contacted over on the left under Hauling Schedule, and it cost just under a dollar a mile.

A lot. Can I ask you a question? Why would you want to ship a Super A that distance when you live in the heart of Farmall country? When I was shopping the B I just waited until one came up within driving distance of home. They are there you can count on it. Does this tractor have some special meaning to you or are you just so eager to own one that cost (which includes shipping) is no object? Mostly just curious.

Dave H, Living in the heart of farming country doesn't mean that ALL models of Farmalls are plentiful. It all depends on what type of farming was being done. I also live in the heart of farming country down here in southwest Iowa and if I wanted to buy another H or M, all I need to do is watch the local classifieds. Probably 3 or 4 of the Ms and Hs turn about twice a month or so. The Farmall A, B, and C is a totally different story. Very few of them were ever sold new around here.

Uh-huh....but 2000 miles? They may be scarce in Minnesota but there are a fair number in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio..... .you get the picture.
You could easily double the cost of the tractor by shipping it that far. Just seemed to me like an awful long haul plus you have to add in the cost of the inspection trip. Like I said before, mostly just curious. He can do what he wants with his money.

Thanks for your replies Rusty and Dale --- you’re both right on target. I ‘d like a super A or C and they just aren’t plentiful around here in northern Minnesota. The few I"ve found have been left outside since they were new and they are real JUNK. There seems to be quit a few out New York way or south east part of the US. I’d like a working tractor that I can restore. I was asking for shipping more or less out of curiosity because I have the means of hauling most tractors but 3200 miles round trip is a little further than I’d like to go. Thanks again
Paul

I know how you feel, I"ve been looking for a W-4 for awhile, you don"t see many if any at all in South Texas. As far as row crop tractors, there everywhere. Good Luck.
