Need assistance regarding the repair of the steering on my 340 Utility. (It has a front loader and a rear scraper blade.)
It is equipped with a power steering unit that was installed sometime after the tractor was manufactured.

I recently replaced the the power steering pump due to seal failure on the pump.
The P.S. pump is an early 70's or there-abouts and is belt driven from the crankshaft.

The steering seemed to work smoothly for twenty or so hours after the new pump was installed, then it developed a slightly erractic jerking when making turns to the left and right, requiring me to apply considerable pressure to complete the turn and to return the tires back to center. This action was more acute when the front bucket was loaded, but even with no load, the steering was still jerking.
Note: There was considerable free-play (about 1/4 turn in either direction) in the steering prior to the steering failure.
When the steering failed, there was no unusual noise, no difference in the feel - the steering wheel just began to turn very easily with no action from the front wheels.

I'm not sure if the power steering actuator connected to the steering sector box (located in the steering column) failed or the sector box itself failed or a combination of the two.

I am in need of an assembly manual and would appreciate any and all input regarding the steering situation on my tractor.
Thanks for reading and your assistance.
Sully.
