You can drill and tap yours as Gene suggested. You would need to use an R tap drill if the temperature gauge is 1/8 pipe thread and then use a 1/8 pipe tap to cut threads into your pipe.

If it's 1/4" pipe thread on the gauge you need to use a 7/16" drill as the tap drill. Then use 1/4" pipe tap to cut threads into your pipe.

You can have a reducing bushing that will fit the temp gauge threads silver soldered on the elbow.
We did this a lot to install thermocouples. Hal
PS: The bushing would need to drilled and install a short pipe nipple so you don't mess up the threads when you drill.

Just drill and tap the hole in the flat spot on the one you have now or i can sell you one but shipping and stuff would pay for the charges to fix yours.
