Hi All,

I posted a week or 2 ago about switching the rear wheels on my H. The rear wheels are set with the dish in, with wheels weights on the end. I'm taking it to a the tractor dealer i bought it from becasue they have loaders there to assist. My questions are: Can the wheel weight be left on the end of the wheel, and once switched will be on the inside of the axles...Is this a problem in any way? (Just out of curiosity....just in case we can't get those nuts loose on the weights) And second, How hard is it to loosen those bolts on the hubs if i'm been spaying them with PB blaster pentrating oil for the last 2 weeks?

Thanks
Ryan

Ryan, Most of the time people turn them in to haul them between the fenders on a trailer. 82in.

Randy, those weights are meant to be on the outside of the wheel so I'd take them off if I could. Be careful as they weigh about 150lbs each and are champion finger smashers. The weights for the inside of the wheel are split into two halves so you can put them on around the axle. That would be if you wanted to add more than what would fit on the outside of the wheel. You can stack up to 4 on the outside of each back wheel. Dave.

The reason to have them dished out is for strength. Picture what's happening to the wheel when the tractor is on the side of a hill; dished in the tactor's weight is pulling the wheel apart, dished out the weight is pushing the wheel together.

I've never seen one dish-out with the weights inside, but I imagine it's possible. Darn funny looking, though. I would say, "But how would you get them past the wheels if you wanted to take them off?" But that's sorta the point, huh?
Most likely you'll be able to get them loose, 'specially if you're getting it to the dealer to have help with moving them. They'll probably have a big enough wrench, and replacement bolts if they break one.
Good Luck, Wm

The wheels are ABOUT 68-70 inches now all the way to the end of the axle with weights...But I's rather the dish out for stabilty.
