C123 engine dipstick

I am overhauling a c123 for my Super A. I want to put a dipstick in it. There is a boss in the casting for a dipstick that I can drill. There is supposed to be a tube that is inserted into the block that holds the dipstick, according to my parts manual. The tube is no longer available from IH and JP salvage didn't have any,probably impossible to remove without destroying it.

Can someone give me some dimensions of their dipstick tube so I can try to make one?
length of tube extending from block-
outside diameter-
inside diameter-
anything else I might need, I've never seen one.

Measured 123 stationary engine I have measurements are as follows

Tube in block 7/8 stick out, 10 1/4 inside block
tube OD 1/2 inch
Dipstick 12 3/4 inches long

i've helped someone put a dipstick in a farmall b, we used a flexible dipstick for a honda car, we did have to drill to get a good fit, but it works fine.

Hi Jack, Heres an idea. You can fabricate a tube from anything you want or get a tube and a dipstick from some auto engine. Drain your oil and add the proper amount per the specs. Then mark your new dipstick to match. If you have the motor apart now you might want to work out the maximum stick length needed before it hits the crank or the bottom of the oil pan etc.
