Is the pickup screen located under the large and heavy looking cover that the seat is mounted on?
My pump works fine but does not pickup oil. I changed the oil and put back in 28 quarts. If I put the supply tube in oil the pump works great.

The filler hole is the one on the top front of the resevoir near the gear shift.

The hole in the center of the top is the vent hole. MAKE SURE THE VENT HOLE IS NOT PLUGGED.
There should be a small vent cap with a filter inside in the vent hole.

The system will NOT WORK if the vent hole is plugged.

The trans/differential holds 28qt. Not the hydraulic system.

The amount of fluid in your hydraulic system depends on your system.

There is a DIPSTICK in the filler hole plug in the hydro resevoir under the seat. Use it.

If I remember right there is only about 4-6qt in the resevoir. You may have your system flooded.

Good Luck

PS. If your dipstick is missing make your own out of a clean bolt or wire(make sure it is plenty long enough not to drop into resevoir). Using your handmade dipstick fill the resevoir about half full.

Yep and it is a bear to change. You will need some kind of hoist to lift it off.
The screen is about the size of a paper towel cardboard center. When lowering the top back on make sure it goes down straight and do not bend the screen.
Last screen I bought cost $60.
It"s not the money so much as the time it takes to change it.
Do a good job and clean the resevoir good and it will last a long time.

Al, Are you putting the oil in under the seat? I didn`t think they held that much oil in the hyd. But it has been 2 or 3 yr. since I have been in one. kjm
