Front End Loader for Farmall Cub?

I'm an originally an 8N man myself (inherited my grandfather's tractor), so I apologize if I'm asking a dumb question.

But is/was there ever a small loader bucket ever available for the Farmall Cub? I recently picked up a nice Farmall Cub in a trade, and I'm thinking it would make a great loader for the light loader work I need around the farm (moving mulch). I'd like to find a good reason to hang onto the Cub, but honestly, I have the 52 8N for bush hogging and light farm work. The "wardon" will hit me with one of her cast iron skillets if I can't "justify" keeping a second vintage tractor.

I really do need a light duty loader, and having a bucket on a vintage tractor -- hey, I'd rather have that than a brand new one!

Thanks in advance!

I am definitely interested in your loader. I'm in Colorado Springs for a few days. How close are you?

Wenger's in PA has a 1000 (one-armed) loader for sale. Painted up nice, with labels. Ready for this?...$1950! Wow! I've bought whole loader tractors for less than that! That being said, we have purchased from them before, and they stand behind their stuff.

MAN! Two grand for the loader bucket?! I don't care about the paint and stickers -- they'd just get scraped off, anyway.

I've seen whole tractor/loader combos for less, too!

I'll keep looking. At least I know that they are out there and available.

bought my 76 cub with a 1000 loader handy as all get out. moved to town and quit using it. let people convice me it was too little, worthless etc. so sold it. then spent over two years lookiong for another 1000loader had to buy a loboy, loader, fast hitch and rear finish mower just to get the loader.
It is way too handy and this one will not get sold.

If you find a loader, I wouldn't do it. The Cub's engine block has been known to crack under normal drawbar use, adding a loader only increases the likelyhood of this happening.

In addition to the Wagner loader, there's also the famous IH 1000 "one-arm" loader. Both are rare and highly desirable options for a Cub collector, so you may have some trouble finding one at a reasonable price...

Having had many an hour driving an 8N with armstrong power steering, I can give you one fine reason to like the cub, It steers. Just do not get into lifting beyond the intent of the loader, or tractor.

I"m pretty sure an IH one arm loader will fit a cub. Try JP Tractor Salvage they seem to have them in stock often. They ship everywhere and there rates a reasonable.
