Here is a link. I have not used Yahoo before so please let me know if it doesn't work. Also please let me know if you need further info. I will get it ASAP.
I would like to know if it has the ability to fairly easily and cheaply have a working PTO. If so what do I need to do and where do I go for parts and instructions.
Also it is somewhat apart so where could I get a good manual to put it back together.

According to the ser. # yours is a 1956 300. The "S" stands for T/A with provision for 540 independent pto. I haven't installed a pto in a 300 that didn't have one, but according to the "S" I believe the tractor would have everything inside to put the IPTO on it rather easily. Maybe someone else here can answer this better than me.

So there is a drive shaft and something that bolts on. What else do you add for the 3 point hitch or is that part of the PTO you bolt on.
Do you have a pic of what I need to find or what it is called exactly?

A picture is worth 1000 words.

That's a 300, 330 or 350 Utility. There should be a serial number tag on the tractor somewhere.

The problem is, unless you have X-ray vision and know what you're looking for, there's no way to tell whether the transmission has all the necessary mechanics to accomodate a PTO.

If it does, it's as simple as adding the PTO unit off a 300, 330, or 350. They're all basically the same, and require only a few bolts to install. You can find PTO units at tractor salvage yards, which are generally local businesses and are advertised in the yellow pages.

As far as getting a manual that tells you how to put it back together, good luck. The only thing out there is the I&T manual or the original service manual. Both still require some level of mechanical aptitude, so if you're completely helpless with a wrench, and have no inclination to learn, then walk away from that tractor.

When you say just bolts on are we talking removing the plate in the back and inserting a splined drive shaft. In other words fairly quick and easy (and cheap) or would it mean opening up the rear axle and spending 40 hours doing stuff.
I am fairly mechanically adept. Do all my own car work and when it gets big, like replacing a transmission I call my little brother the mechanic.
The tractor is $1,500. Assuming that the labor is free and the rest of the tractor works (I need to re-attach the carb, control panel and make new spark plug wires as well as dink with the starter. Supposedly all the parts are there) can I get the PTO up and running for less than $300? How many hours and or dollars. What can I open up and look at to verify if the PTO guts are there?

Looks like a 350U to me....minus the dashpanel.Looks like a pretty heavy duty loader setup,but also looks like it weighs a bunch.$1500? My $1500 300U looked a lot more complete and neater than that one,does it run good? Yes,the plate gets removed to bolt on a PTO.What is the serial # off the plate behind the distributor?
