Hi everyone. I lowered the bucket too far on my Super M and broke a couple pieces of the steering. Does anyone have any of these pieces they would sell me or can I get this stuff welded back together? Pics 1a and 1b are the same piece just broken in two. I was trying to turn the nuts on 1a to take it off and I turned the piece around 180 degrees and now it will not turn back around to where it should be. Does this mean I will need to do some disassembly to fix it? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks--Marvin

Wayne, the steering wheel trick worked perfectly. The set-back plate sounds like a good idea for me. One more question if I may..the nuts on 1a aren't reverse threads are they? I have already broken one ratchet and my breaker bar isn't doing much better. I guess I can heat them up and take them off easier. Thanks again all--Marvin

Have someone turn the steering wheel as you try to rotate the bottom of the shaft. It likely has a half moon shape gear up top and was turned too far so the gear is not touching the worm. No big deal.
If you are hitting the front end with your loader, get a set-back plate to bring the front end 6" further back under the engine.

Last I saw, you had a tractor that was stuck pretty good. Did you ever get it out of that mud hole?

Marvin, Try turning the steering wheel in either direction. There is a bolt in the broken part that keeps you from turning to short. that is most likely what is wrong. Try a Farm Equipment Junkyard. A place you could probably get your part would be Steel Wheel Ranch. Phone #785-548-7437. Look under the tractor and you should be able to see the bolt with the long head. Have fun Boyd

Thanks Boyd, that sounds like a great piece of info. And Mace, nope, it"s still in the mudhole. Tomorrow, a D6 Cat is gonna pull me out.
