Kevin: If you've ever have those steel lines off, you will find that port also has an oil chanel through to one of the other ports. I've forgotten which one but think it goes to oil return line to the pump. In the early days of these tractors, namely C, SC and SA, I have seen remote valve hookups that have plumbing to all three of those ports. I remember being at IH parts counter once and guy came in with plumbing broken, and rightfully complaining about such small piping being exposed to possible damage. Having never owned a tractor with such a plumbing hookup I'm not 100% sure, but here are my thoughts. If they plumbed a remote valve, some of the older double action remote valves had a presure in line and two return lines. I'm not sure I'm right, but I remember seeing this plumbing nightmare the guy had at counter that day. I said at the time, if there was no better way to install a remote valve on one of these tractors, then I guess I didn't need one. I have seen some very neat and tidy remote valves. In fact the factory valve bolts right in place there. I'm not exactly sure when the factory remote was introduced, but suspect it came about same time as fast hitch on Super C. Most of those plumbing nightmares I've seen were on C or SC with loader.
