You know its been a bad day when you are on your way home and you spy your lunch sitting on the seat where you put it this morning, fencing ,feeding, sick cow, choring for neighbour, business in town, didn't have time for lunch nor even thought of it, 7AM to 6PM tomorrow will be better...it always is on a farm, after all what could go wrong?...incidentally it costs us $20 to have a dead stock removed, used to be free(neighbours, not mine this morning anyway).....Mike in exeter Ontario

Know about that bad day. I used to just eat on the move. We pay $60 now I think for the dead truck whether it is a cow or a calf. Guess they may process more of the stuff from them in Canada so it doesn't cost as much. In the old days it was a trip behind the tractor to a brush pile somewhere.

Slow down Michael. Life is too short. Yeah, I figure it's only a matter of time before they start charging for the dead truck here too.

We're lucky here I guess...so far anyway...our "dead truck" is of the four legged variety, commonly known as "coyotes".

A chain around a leg of the recently deceased, drug to a secluded pocket in the hills, and in a week or so there's nothing left but a few scattered bones. After a few years even they dissappear.

Although I remember when I was real young we'd go out into the hills on Sunday afternoons and "hunt bones"....guess there used to be a market for them, dad would haul 'em to town and sell them....
