Ok Wes the picture and some of the lines are not quite according to the parts manuel. Which If you had one it would answer all your questions. Let me see If I can explain The hydraulic situation for your power steering. First off If your tractor did not come with power steering you will have to get a pressure regulator for power steering. The power steering regulator has a priority valve in it to give the steering priority. There is a fitting out the rear that powers your power steering motor. The other line from your power steering motor is the return which according to the part manuel return through the drain plug. The U shaped tube that also comes off the regulator valve feeds the front two hydraulic valves if your tractor has them. The reason for this is so the front one or two valves work through the pressure regulator. I hope this helps. Really you should get a hold of Binder Books and get your self a set of manuels.

I already have all the manuals from binder books, but I can't find any info or pictures on the power steering hook up, the only part I don't quite under stand is the how the u shaped line coming out of the regulator valve hooks into the other two valves in the front

Wes,
If you dont have it, the IT manual IH-10 spends a lot of time on the PS for the 300U thru 450U.
Good pictures and explanations.

The plumbing in the pictures of my tractors is stock and original.

Good luck. Dell

Here is the left side lines. Looks like two lines.

You have me stumped on the u shaped line. Been awhile since I worked on the ps.

Will take a look at tractor and parts book.

Check this post tomorrow pm or monday.

The smaller line coming from the right side of the ps goes into the front of the resevoir near the pump lines as shown. (disregard the yellow arrow, that is just the safety valve) The line in the front near gear shift with the white tape on it is the ps line.

The larger one coming out of the left side of the ps unit goes into the left side of the resevoir near the drain plug.

Wes,

The tube coming out of the side of the front control valve is the front portion of the u shaped tube you are refering to.

the back of the this u tube curves to the ps control valve at the rear which is inside the rear remote valve pictured.

The length of your u tube will depend on how many remote valves you have. As you can see in the pic I have two valves in front and one in the rear. The ps valve is mounted inside the rear controler and the u tube fits into the rear of that.

Because I have a front and back control valve my u tube connects to both the front and back then circles around to the back of the ps valve.

Thats about as confusing as I can make it:-)
