Can anyone give me an approximate value for a 1957 350 Utility gasser. Good rubber, new paint, good tin, runs good, with a King Cutter mower. Any weak spots that I should look for. Asking price $3,750.

That might be a bit high, but if both the mower and tractor are in good shape it could easily be worth it. You could run the tires off your truck trying to find another one (at $3.00 a gallon to stop looking now might be real cheap). I've seen several utilties that were as rough as a cob go for $2000 or more just because they were running. You figure a new King cutter of any size is $700-$900.

If it has TA make sure it works.Check the water pump for leaks.Rebuilt 300/350 pumps are pricey! And the infamous steering. If it has any freeplay (like 1/2 a turn)the box is heavily worn and not easily fixed. If its power steering look for leaks out the pitman shafts and up thru the steering column.Any of these deficiencies...either walk away or dicker them down more than $1000 lower than they are asking.

Steering, if it ever had a loader on it. To me the price is $1000-$1500 too high, though. Don't let the paint fool you, will hide many defects.

Cowman! I didn't know you had the 350 Utility! I didn't see it in any of your family pictures, and I don't remember ever seeing it mentioned in any of your threads. I have only been a member for 6 months or so, but I look at this board every day. If you mentioned it before then, I would not have seen it.

What's with the yellow? Were some of them actually offered that way, or you just wanted a yellow tractor?

Always trying to learn more ..... ..... thanks.

Joe
