Super A hydraulics levers controling throttle

I am sure that this must be a fairly simple fix, but before I start busting knuckles I wanted some advice from the "experts". Moving the hydraulic levers on my SA causes the throttle to change. I can see that it is moving the whole structure that the throttle and hydraulic controls are on. Is there any way to tighten this assembly to at least lessen the effect?

Todd: Even when those tractors were new, one could grab the post up near steering wheel, and by pushing or pulling on it you could affect both throttle and hydraulics. That was the case even if all the bolts were in place.

The suggestions Nat, Sam and Mark gave are all possibilities. Bolts out that tie that dash to the top of battery case, plus hydraulic levers not moving freely will make this worse. I've also run across a few of these tractors with the dash badly rusted where it bolts to torque tube. Some of these are rusted so badly by now, the only thing that keeps the dash standing is a combination of being bolted to battery box, all the controls plus the steering shaft.

A new dash isn't that hard to fabricate, take the old one to a fabrication shop with rolling machine and he can shape that up quite quickly.

I had that problem on my 140 when my battery box wasn`t on the tractor, Those two 3/8`` fine thread bolts that screw from the battery box into the back of the dash will sturdy it up. If that don`t do it, then I`d agree with Nat that the friction pads are either rusted up or they`re adjusted wrong. There`s an adjustment on the outside of both touch control levers where they`re double nutted. Loosen them up and try readjusting them so they stay where you want them ,but move somewhat easily when you need to move them. Hope this helps,Mark

There should I believe be four bolts holding down the dash (with the ammeter, on/off switch, and light switch in it) which the steering wheel support and the hydraulic controls are mounted to. Two bolts go through the bottom into the torque tube, the other two go through the battery box and into the back (front) of the 'dash'. If the latter two are missing it could likely cause the fault you described. Hope this helps, SAm in NS

There are three main possibilites for the problem:

1. Something is rusted up and causing the whole thing to move, like all the levers are rusted to the common shaft, and the shaft is turning in its mount.
2. Something is badly worn, moving too easily, and causing the whole thing to move, like the throttle and hydraulic levers are all so badly worn and move so easily, that even the slightest friction between them causes them all to move together.
3. Something is broken, causing the whole thing to move, like the common shaft is broken from its mount and rotating when you move any lever.

I think you need to take it apart and figure out what's going on. It certainly doesn't sound like a common problem to me.
