Man has it been raining here. Got 2" last night and almost another 1" between 11:00 abd 11:30 this AM. This is a photo of the ground I plowed and planted for a food plot 3 weeks ago. The water raise another 8 or ten inchs after this photo. You would think we are in the deep south, my food plot had swiming snakes and frogs in it this morning. Should have made a home for cat fish instead of deer and quail. We have got around 12 inchs of rain since the 1st of this month. Owned this place close to two years and this is the first time to see even a mud puddle. We have been real dry. Hope your OK Jimmy King. Give me a call and I'll paddle up and git you. Got to love MO weather.

Yesterday morning when I got to the DC another driver was getting ready to go home so I hollared at him on the CB and told him he would have to cross a river about 1/2 way between Senic and Kansas on Battlefield. He told me last night he slowed way down for it about 8 inches deep and 30 ft across then he hit two more before he got to Glenstone, he said one was so deep it ran in his doors. I hit the one I told him about doing about 45 that got my attention.

So that's what happened? You guys are hogging all the water? It's so dry here I started feeding the bossies hay. My friend says not to lose hope, that it rained once to cover the earth. I said, "yeah, but God himself made a promise that would never happen again"

O Nebraska Land, sweet Nebraska land, As on thy burning sod I stand, I look across the plains, And wonder why it never rains, Till Gabriel blows his trumpet sound And says the rain's just gone around.

We've reached the land of desert sweet, Where nothing grows for man to eat. The wind it blows with feverish heat Across the plains so hard to beat.

We've reached the land of hills and stones Where all is strewn with buffalo bones. O buffalo bones, bleached buffalo bones, I seem to hear your sighs and moans.

We have no wheat, we have no oats, We have no corn to feed our shoats;
Our chickens are so very poor They beg for crumbs outside the door.

Our horses are of bronco race;
Starvation stares them in the face. We do not live, we only stay;
We are too poor to get away.

We had been dry like that Cowman for at least a year. I think the weather man said before all this came through we where somethink like 17 or 18 inchs behind over the last year of so. I think this rain has settled the dust though.

Paul I know what you mean about the rain, but I remember all too well what last year was like, and this 3/4 to 1 inch a day just makes me giddy. My old cows are out there and just can't begin to keep up with the pastures and I got three to rotate this year. Might even make hay on one if this keeps up. Harley
