well you know i might have figured out what is going otheway i have this thing rigged up is i made a adaptor to screw on the crank then i have a ujoint to kick it at an angle to miss the steering bolster7/8 shaft comes thru the hand crank hole i then have a 7/8 two bolt flange bearing to hold the shaft tru i think i forgot to tighten the bearing bolts down thus letting the shaft and pump shaft move during times od heavy loads. lets hope anyway i havent payed the vendor for the pump wont see him untill next week but if i ruint the seal i will pay him

Many Hyd. pumps use casting passages to lubricate the pump bearings. These passages are (usually) from the non-pressure side of the pump, keeping full hyd pressure off of the seal. If the housing is for the opposite rotation, the pressure will be on the seal, blowing it out. Just my observation (I got into deep trouble with my father for 6 months when I was 9 for disassembling a new hyd pump for our sp125 combine. I spent 3 days putting it back together. All 6 months making good boy moves)

Terry,

Sure not trying to tell you your business 'er anything, but why not just get a live pump off a 300? Four bolts and she's on there.

Please don't give up. Take a step back. Give it a week if you can. Take someone fishing or golfing. Then get a second wind and try again. My opinion is that when we give up we are quitting on ourselves and that is an unfortunate thing to do. If someone else can do it, you can to. You just need to clear the cobwebs out of the brainbox and then you will be good to go again. Good Luck STEVE

I agree with Jim,

None of this is your fault, so don't get discouraged.

Terry the ""vendor"" has made a mistake that entitles you to your money back. It was done twice, once with the wrong pump, and once with the wrong pump made wronger. Get the money and choose a different vendor for the pump. They are out there.
