What are your reasons for adding live hydraulics?

I had a SMTA, didn't like the cam drive hydro pump. Added belt driven hydraulics to my H for less money and they work awesome.

would you share your pump brand and specs. i got all these ideas from your former website steven just havin trouble with pump sizing and roatation i am driving off the crank shaft

It is a Cross brand pump. I believe it is a 50 series gear pump. It is designed for the side load of being run by a belt. It cost $180 in 2003.

The pump runs about 2000 rpm at full throttle and delivers around 16 to 18 gallons per minute at that speed. When the pump is running 1000 rpm it puts out around 8 gpm.

The max pressure the pump is rated for is 3000 psi. However, the belt drive will only deliver around 1200 psi before slipping (same psi as the distributor pumps). If I were to do it again, I might spend the extra money to put a cogged belt drive on it.

Need any more info, let me know. I have the overall spec sheet for the pumps, but I'm not sure exactly which model I have - I just went to a local hydraulic shop and gave them my specs for drive type and gpm and they ordered what I needed.
