Hello everybody. I was wondering if anybody here has torn off the rear wheel on like a international 240 utility or something that might be similar? I can get the wheel off no problem but the hub is stuck on there. Is there a keeper ring or anything that holds that on? Would it be smart to apply heat to it or will that cause more problems? I would like to change the wheel seal on that side cause it leaks. Thanks for your time. Darin

This won't help in the short run, but which axel do you have? The straight axel or the one with a flange that the wheel bolts to. If it is the straight axel (like a H or M)Ive cut the bolt heads off with a torch and then they (the bolts), will sometimes come out easily. If it is the flange type then you will go inside and find what keeps the axel in place like a bolt through the bull gear as on an A or B. In any case for best luck and time saving get yourself an I T manual for your tractor.

Mine has the flange with the grease zerk on the end. It has several bolts that hold it one with a gasket behind that. I think thats for holding the grease in. Then the seal is in the housing or in the flange housing. I just can't get the hub off is all. I will try some heat soon. Thanks for the reply and your time.
