Looking for info on an Internatial Tractor

I posted a while back about this.

I stopped by there today and got some numbers off the tractor.
He told me that since then he has found out the tractor is a D 188

Head Casting Number is 308378R8 (last digit could be a 3).

I found a little aluminum colored plate rivoted onto
the right side of the engine with these numbers on it.

11336 SXY-FF

He needs a head gasket for this tractor.
And he needs the torque specs for the head bolts.
And any other info he can get about this tractor.

The D-188 diesel engine was only offered in the International & Farmall 504 and the 2504 Industrial tractor if I'm not mistaken. They were built between '62 and '68, 46 pto horsepower. According to the serial number you listed it's a '65 model. The letter suffixes mean - S = Torque Amplifier w/provision for Independent PTO, X = High Speed Low & Reverse Gears, Y = 12 G.P.M. Hyd. pump, FF = 4.5 G.P.M. Hyd. Pump. The head gasket number is 308379R3 and the torque for the head bolts are 75 - 80 ft. lbs.

I have an IT-FO4 manual for my 8N.
Is there a similar manual available for this tractor?

I"m amazed at the info I can get from this site.

You can get the IT manuals from this site. Click on manuals on the upper left corner of page. Search for IH/Farmall 504. I believe the manual number is IH - 201.
