I have a Farmall H which leaks gas around the shut-off valve on the sediment bowl. Is there a packing material than can be obtained? Any other methods of fixing?
Thanks in advance.

As long as your at it clean the tank and make sure the sediment bowl filter screen is in good shape.

Clean everything and adding an o-ring is as a good idea or a new bowl, either way. Ive never seen the packing sold seperate but if you really want to do it yourself, see what kind of packing is in there and make up your own. Its your tractor.

The first thing you might try would be to tighten the packing nut a little bit. If that doesn't cure the problem you will be time and money ahead to just replace the entire sediment bowl assembly. Cost will be between $20 to $30 at your local Case-IH dealer, and the new one will be an exact duplicate of the original.

Well, what I did on my f-20 was to take out the valve shaft and clean it up the best I could, then put on an o-ring that fits tightly, but not too tight on the shaft. Then put it back together, making sure not to overtighten. Just my 2c worth, but it seems to work pretty well.
