On Monster Garage, they have an old John Deere tractor to pull a crop circle making device, and they needed an engine part and could no longer buy it.They had to shop for used.
John Deere unable to service its tractors? I thought they had their act together and could supply anything..... sorta makes "orphan" International not look so bad afterall...huh...
Maybe a Ute would have served them better.....well,if the steering was up to snuff.....

 Re: OT:Monster Garage - Joke right? in reply to PAULIH300, 05-22-2006 17:24:46
Monster Garage is a joke. See a lot more useful stuff come out of a farmer's shed without near the money wasted on it. Jesse should stick to building bikes for RUBs and quit embarrassing himself.

It didnt look blown up really. After the explosions were done it appeared to be pretty much intact.Nothing like those car bombs that we see nearly every day....but even though, they probably still scrapped it for its steel value.

Well, it's a TV show, they try to exhibit their vast knowledge and skills by making it more complicated than it really is. If the tractor manufacturer does not have it, there is a humongous supply of aftermarket parts.

Ooopps....the old John Deere had a steering problem too....however,once the rust and stuff got freed up it steered far easier than a Ute.CASE/IH should be watching the show....

Thats a rerun. At the end of the show they blow it up and destory a lot of good parts. As far as JD haveing the part they probably didn't look all that hard. Shoot I can still get most of the parts for my 1935 JD-B. Me I'm niehter a Farmall, JD, Ford etc. but a tractor fan and all of them should be saved if they can be and that one could have been

Not choosing sides, but its better that they didnt choose an IH for the show....they would have destroyed it anyway.....
Keep Jesse away from the Utes.....

Hey, the didn't meet the deadline with a working machine... Them's the rules. No tools for the contestants, and the monster gets destroyed on national TV.

I'm sure the producers didn't count on the Deere being so difficult to blow up, though.
