Maybe this should go in the classified's but thought you guys may point me in the right direction? Dad and I ressurected his old M from the dead last weekend after silence for 14 years. Tractor seems to be strong, and I've got a rebuilt carb on the way, but not sure where we'll end up on it, so I don't want to throw much money at it yet. (Too many other projects like the B)
I'd like to find a chrome straight stack for it, but don't want to buy a new one from a supplier yet, till I see if we're going to be able to do this one right....yet. Ideas?

THat is a Legend from the past that had no credence then, and none now. If an engine was way hot, and there was fresh cold air blown onto a red hot exhaust valve, it could, but probably would not, Warp. Ignore it. The only real exhaust related facts are how well the dynamics of the flow interact with the valve timing and pumping efficiency of the engine. In a low speed low compression, small valved engine, it just isn't important. JimN

Put a muffler on it. only idiots put strait pipes on tractors besides muffler completes the look of an old M.

I could not hear a word you wrote. Seriously, if you decide on a straight pipe, I put one on my M that I got from an auto parts store. It had the nice bend at the end and was angle cut. Try it before you decide to spend the money on a chrome pipe. A muffler is probably going to be involved in the future anyway.

If you insist on a chrome pipe (their cool) put a glass pack inside it. I have hearing loss from a straight pipe H. Not cool,
