I have a "51 Farmall H. The upper petcock on the oil pan leaks oil. I have closed it tightly, but when i am on a slight incline, it leaks oil. The oil also leaks right after I stop using the tractor. The oil pressure is good, but since It leaks, i just add in what came out when i want to use it. Is there any way to fix this leak? Thanks.

I like the more or less part... Unless they have changed things, the Reproduction Petcocks tighten the oposit way than original...

The ones from OEM turn the same as the original IH. They also look identical. But, the one I bought leaks, unless I tighten it to the point of stripping. I do buy hard to find stuff from them, but they have a quality control problem, or at least did have. You probably read the thread on RPM a year or so ago.

Yeah, I'm going through a bit of a quality control problem and more with OEM right now...They sure let you know that THEY are never wrong, or at fault...

Sounds like they did not get the message. The thread in Red Power Magazine was read by one of the office people and distributed to the employees, so that they would know that people had complaints -- at that time the response to complaints was the same as you have indicated. Most of the stuff I have run into, such as the wrong holes in battery boxes, etc have been fixable. But, as much as they brag on themselves, it shouldn't happen.

I had my first problems with them back in '03 or so. I own 2 H's and 2 M's, and we all know that "they're never quite finished". I've gotten several thousand dollars worth of parts and good humble service elsewhere since then...I thought they (OEM) had cleaned up their act, so I put in a $200 plus dollar order with them...and nothing has changed...Something doesn't fit...I'm always incorrect (or maybe incompetent) in their opinion, and whenever I have called, they send the damage-control czar ol'Thurman (sp)the master of schmooze. He has all the excuses down in front of him that is for sure.
