I tried to post a correction to post on jet clog last night but think it was lost. Think we were refering to same orfice, but IH called it a main seat, also what I call the nozzle is what IH refers to as the main jet.Sorry if You wern't the poster.

It was me. I have had this carb soaking in SeaFoam for for a whole to loosen up the gunk in there. I was able to unclog the main Jet seat, Idle Jet tube and the meter tube. I used very small drill bits and sprayed brake parts cleaner, stepping up in size on the drill bits until I reached the size of oriface. I only used my fingers with the drill bits so as not to do any damage. I'm letting it soak some more, then I will finish cleaning and put 'er back together.

The orifce in the idle metering jet is smaller than any drill bit I own, and I have the complete set, letter, number, and fractional. The metering jet is made of soft brass, and it is very easy to run a drill bit through it thinking you are removing crud, but in fact you are opening up the orifice, and the tractor will not idle smooth and will put out black smoke while idling. Do as you want, but I would remove the idle jet and install a new one. It will also be much easier to remove the crud with the idle jet out.
