Why early June for RPRU.

I still have hay to bale and need to start spraying beans.

I would love to attend but timing is bad.

I attended the Iowa RPRU two years ago but was able to make a one day trip out of it.

I would like to see it moved to July or August.

Does anyone else agree or am I the lone ranger here?

Gary

Absolutely agree with you. I have a very rare Int (I've never seen one at either of the two Round-Ups that I have attended), but no way could I take it in Mid June. I thought only major Hay people cared & I'm glad to see you feel likewise. I've been thinking about writing to the RPRU people questioning the timing.

It can never be right for everybody. One thing nice about moving it around, everybody gets a chance. I'd love to go to Rollag some year but I get busy and can't get away then.

I like the change. The pressure cooker we had last year in Tenn. wasn't much fun (for us). See you there Cowman.

I agree it will never be right for everyone.

But later would be better for most.

Hot weather thats in gods hands. It could be 98 in Ohio in june also.

What is Rollag?

While we are on this subject, when is the round-up going to be moved to another state besides Ohio? I would like to see it come back to Iowa, and I'm sure others might like to have it in Nebraska, or Missouri, or Minnesota, or?

2007---Bloomsburg, PA
2008---Booneville, Mo
It's a different place every year. Of course there are some repeats, but it's years between having it at the same place. I like earlier, less chance of it being so hot as it was last year in Tennessee.

It's actually only the first or second time it's been in Ohio, I think only the first. Iowa's had it a couple times in the last six years. It was in Illinois a couple times already.

For 2009, Wisconsin, Iowa, and South Dakota are making bids. We've got a very interesting site in Wisconsin, easy access from the interstate, lots of hotel rooms, plus the archives is only a mile away so we can bring a whole bunch of that stuff to the grounds for display.

I heard tell it was bacause of the annual IH chapter 6 show and they made two shows into one. Im sure there are other reasons, but it makes more sense to have just one show. Sorry some of you cant make it.

I've seen that discussion a couple times lately, and there were multiple reasons. one was when people were avaialble to work, another was conflicts with ohter events in areas, and a third was tempeerature. In some areas July and August are very hot and humid, and attendance is hurt by it.

I'm with you. I have over 200 acres of beans to replant. Another 100 to work & plant the first time. And I need to put 28 on the corn this week. It is only about 60 miles away and I ain't gonna make it

Now that would really upset me if I was that close and we had a late spring here and not be able to make it.

I feel for you man.
