Well I removed the hood today and found that I will not be welding this manifold up. It has a hole big enough to put your fist in so I guess I have one H for parts and one to fix up. I had hoped I could fix them both but oh well at least one of them will be fixed instead of both of them going for scrap.

If you can't afford a new manifold used ones are not usually too high. Why does a bad manifold scrap the tractor?

It doesn't scrap this tractor it just makes it so I will not fix the other one. I'll use it for parts to fix up the other 2 Hs I have so instead of 3 Hs I will have 2 good ones and one for parts

Hi Old , I'm kinda chewing on my tongue here . I'm trying to find a way to be tactful but it's hard ! Do all 3 of those H's run ? If so why in creation would you use one for parts ? That's the same as scrapping it . They're yours to do with as you please I know but some of us would like a good fixer upper ( I'm just to far away ). Is that 3rd tractor truly beyond repair ? OK my rant is over :-] Take care ...Randy

Well the 3rd one has problems. I.E. it has the mag off of it and the carb off. Plus I have no idea of what the engine is like. So because I have little or no money at this time I'm going to have to part one out just because I need a manifold for the one. But I'm not sure which one I should fix and which one I should part out. Serial number on the one is 25XXX and the other is 42XXX so both are older Hs say 1940 or older.

Hi Old , Looks like they are both '40 models . I hear ya . I also live in a perpetual state of broke . I am cashing in what little I have in my one and only retirement account to buy a 400 farmall if I can find one . Lifes short and I don't care about money in the bank . It doesn't do me any good just sitting there . I don't think I'll live to see 60 anyway but then I said that about 30 too ;-) . And then 40 and in 9 months I'll see 50 . But 60 - who knows ? I'm not looking forward to the so called GOLDEN YEARS . 50's gonna suck as it is . I know we do what we gotta do . But we don't have to like it . Take care ...Randy

Well OLD isn't that much older then you are. I know of a nice 450 for sale with wide front and a loader to boot, but it has a weak hyd pump. Nice paint job on it or at least I think it it but oh wait maybe thats because I did the paint job LOL

I know how old you are ;') . You told me when we talked on the phone last summer . That 450 would be nice but I can't afford one . That's why I'm looking for a 400 . A fixer upper . Something under 1500 . I can't believe how much tractors have gone up just in the last year ! Take care ...Randy
