I live in the boonies, have only been to two shows in my life, as I have only been doing this for 5 years (I am retired and do it to keep from going nuts). I'm not cocky, I just respect the amount of work that goes into cars, trucks, tractors, anything. One thing I do not care for are the big lifted 4x4 pickups, or the other way the lowered ones -- but I do respect the amount of work that has gone into them. I think RPRU is in Missouri in 2008. A "close" 400 miles or so. I intend to go and bring my 460 Hi Utility, if I ever get it finished, and if it's not too heavy for my half ton to pull. It will have about 3 years of work in it (I'm slower than grandma), not cocky, but I won't want people climbing all over it after that much time and money. I don't call that being irritating, because as I said, I enjoy looking at the old rusty ones also. Otherwise I will probably bring my run of the mill Stage 2 Super H, which I put a lot of work into, but it darn sure isn't perfect. Or I might come and bring nothing. There is no reason to be cocky. I did run into one guy at Howard's club's show (NE Cowman) in North Platte last year. He said my tractor has been buffed, I politely made some comment. I don't know if he meant it looked too good, or if he meant I should learn to paint well enough so that I don't need to buff -- As you say even in my limited experience you run into all kinds.
