We have a '50 M with a belly pump that will barely lift the bar on a 115 side mount mower when it gets hot. Presently we run Quiklift in it to match the bigger tractors. Since we never mix the cylinders around anymore would 30w non-detergent help much? How much does the system hold if we do change over? The pump lifts good for about half an hour then fades. I know the pump needs attention but there are too many other irons in the fire right now. Thanks.

Anybody know if H & M belly pump parts are interchangable? Thanks. John

I've had good luck with 20w50 motor oil, and it is fine when cold.

We have ran SAE 90 gear lube in them in summer until we got time to overhaul them. The SAE 90 will help with lifting when hot but is very slow going down when cold.

Are you using the hydraulics to run anything else at the same time that would cause the oil to overheat? If not then it is time to rebuild that pump. A different weight or type of oil will not help. The pump holds 6 quarts.

`The hydraulics don't do anything else, just wondered if thicker oil would help until we got to work on it.

I don't know about Ms, but my H owners manual says 30 wt. motor oil in the lift-all pump. ken
