I am looking at buying an AV from a guy. He does not know a lot about the tractor and does not know the wheelbase length. I need a wheel base length estimate. I don't know if it will fit on my trailer. Thanks

I sell RV's for a living and you would'nt believe the amount of people that think they can tow more, than their vehicle is spec'd for!!!!! I spent 15 yrs with FORD specializing with trucks also, and you would'nt believe the amount of folks who want to buy this, to save money to pull that!!!! and there is salespeople out there that'll sell it to them!!!!! it is totally ridiculass, but it happens daily!!!!! !!

I once hauled my 100 in a cattle trailer. You might could choose that option as well but I'd strongly recommend against it. VOE (voice of experience)

Okay, that helps, but I forgot one minor detail. My trailer has a ramp that needs to close. Does you have any idea of the overall length?

Frank: The overall length is 115". You really should have a 12' to 15' deck trailer for hauling that tractor. Balance is everything when it comes to hauling tractors. You've got to be able to place the weight just right. Sometimes that involves moving tractor forward or back on deck. I have stopped and moved tractors after I'm on the road.

You get an unbalanced load and it can make your drive, "hell on earth". That is true regardless of the size of truck. One day I was approaching a sawmill, at about 1/2 mile I noticed an SUV and trailer with about a ton of lumber, leaving the mill. I could also see he had too much weight behind trailer axle. I stopped as he was coming towards me. You guessed it, he started fish tailing. then jackknifed, did about 270 degree turn right in front of me, finally got stopped crossways in front of me. I was only grossing 140,000 lbs. Just imagine his fate had I not stopped.

The guy behind me, said after the fact, " I almost pulled out and passed you, then I saw the same as you, an accident lookig for a place to happen."

you know I was going to write about the same as you did on needing a trailer that would haul this, I was going to say something like if you need to ask if a AV will fit on a trailer, maybe you dont have a safe enuff trailer to haul this with,,, but I deleted my reply, thanks for touching base on it, people dont realize sometimes that they have a weapon there behind them, it aint all fun and games, and it is getting that time of year that there are more tractors going to shows, that people may need a course on hauling them and securing them, be safe pat,
