We have inherited a Mc. Cormick Deering reaper binder. It was pulled by a tractor and powered by the PTO. The tag reads: TYPE D-4 Attachement complete B-22684 It was used in the fourties on all the neigboring farms. The canvasses were kept under cover but the machine itself looks pretty bad, with broken chains and broken wooden rollers. Also the header is pretty much gone. I wonder if anybody knows, where I could get a manual or maybe someone has a picture of one. I remember seeing one in Archbold Ohio on an Amish farm and was pulled by horses or mules. I haven't decided yet if should restore it or use it as a lawn ornament. Any info. would be appreciated.
Thanks. George

Binder Books may have manual reprints, otherwise, the Wisconsin Historical Society can make photocopies of manuals.

I'll bet there's someone out there that wants to restore it. I say find that person and let them have it.
