424 Hydraulic Question

I posted some questions earlier this year as to why my dad's 2 point arms wouldn't raise a load. Since then his mechanic has checked pressures at pump and under seat and they are good. It still will not work right even after he pulled the top off(under seat) and took all apart, checked orings, gaskets ect. and replaced as needed. The only way he can make it work is by working the draft lever back and forth (with load on it) or by using a bar or large screwdriver to push in on the pin that sets behind the toplink mount. I am assuming this is part of the draft control mechanism. When you do that it will raise a load. Earlier this year, we did drain oil in case, pulled out the return line screen, cleaned, replaced and has new HyTran in it.
His mechanic told him there was what looked like some bent linkage in there but he is not a IH mechanic so I wander if it really was bent or just the way it should be. Now that we know that that pushing in on that pin will raise it, what is that telling us?

AFAIK, if the outer, "draft" control lever is fully forward, moving the top link pivot should NOT affect the how the lift operates, as "draft" has been deselected.

I have a Blue Ribbon service Manual for the 424 hitch. If you would like, I can scan a few pages for you, or we could make arrangements for you to borrow the manual, if you'd like.

Scanning pages of lift set-up and directions would be nice. I'll try to open email as have never done this before.
