Well, I'm kinda in a pickle here....I'm in pretty dire need of a loader tractor. Family ranch has one I can use, but it requires me driving it 3 miles through the hills to "my" place then back again at the end of the day so it can be used to fill the feed wagon the next morning, so I'm really thinking I oughta get one of my own.

Not alot of spare cash lying around, but I spotted a decent-looking 560 with a loader(don't have any more info than that presently, just was a drive-by sighting) at a local tractor shop. I know the owner is "into" old Farmalls, antique pulling, etc., so I figured he'd maybe be interested in a trade for my 650D. It's a good running tractor other than still needing work on the #1 cyl exhaust valve. I've seen these tractors(650's) bring $2500+ on auctions with stuck motors, no tires(mine are decent) and missing parts, so I figured mine might be fairly close to trading, although I'd have to throw in a little boot most likely judging from local 560 prices.

Question is- if you owned a pretty nice 650D would YOU wanna trade it for a 560? Around here 560's are around every corner but this is the only 650 I've ever seen other than the ones on that auction.....kinda think that although I need a loader tractor I'd kick myself someday for getting rid of it.

One last question- the 650 is a bit big and bulky for most general work....but "could"make a pretty decent loader tractor. Think I oughta just find a loader for the 650? Would, say, a Farmhand F-11(really like that one on Allan's H) that was off a row-crop tractor fit without much trouble?

Any and all opinions welcomed!

Ron;

If the 650 has power steering I would just go ahead and put a loader on it.

Hi Ron,

I'd grab the 560 in an eyeblink. Or, at the very least, haul it up here to me. :>)
