Going to start rebuilding a hay wagon tommorow, after the second time through the floor, I"ve had enough! Whats the best thing (on the cheaper side) to paint the chassis with? I"ve used Rustolium, but is there something newer and better out now? Thanks Mike

VF - Rustoleum rusty metal primer seems to be a good product. Rustoleum Farm Equipment Paint, in my opinion, is not the way to go. It is not as hard, and does not have the chemical resistance of either the factory paint, or other name brands such as Ditzler. If you don't give it about a month to cure, it will easily scrape off.

Rustoleum Rusty metal primer works real good, even on nasty surfaces.

I have a small equipment trailer that the factory paint job evaporated after about two years. I had it redone at a car painting place nearby. They used black undercoating paint. Not so shiney as the original, more flat than gloss, but it's held up pretty well for four or five years now. Cost a good bit less, too.

Watered down milk would be better than Rustoleum.
