I want to move an international belly mower from the Cub it came on to a Super A. I have the mounting bracket installed. I have been told that the blade rotate in the opposite direction on the Super A. If so, is there a way to twist the belt to have the blades rotate the same way so I can use the same blades? Thanks for your help.

These guys are right, I've done it. Just make sure you route the belt so it drives the blades the right direction. Or you could just buy blades for a Super A, that's the only difference at the deck. You do have to run it off the SA's belt pulley drive not the main pto shaft.

All you have to do is wind the belt so the blades turn left. The same mower can go either direction just depends on the blades being left or right. Just wind the belt according.

I used a chain drive speed increaser (9 inch sprocket on the PTO and 3 inch driven) with aftermarket bearings on a steel frame mounted on the PTO bolts. It works well. You can give the belts a reverse twist if you make sure your idler pulleys are at different elevations the belt won't rub on itself.

You can also reverse the blades but that involves heating and reforging them then re-heat treating and is probably too much trouble unless you're into that sort of thing. Then the grass comes out the left and you can really see to get up close to things on the right.

Your biggest problem may well be that a cub PTO turns at about 1600 rpm, while an A is only 540 rpm

the mower on an A runs off the belt pulley so the speed will be ok. you cannot run a pulley off the pto on an A as there isnt enough clearence without removing the fender and moving the left wheel out.
