Hi guys, its been a while since I've been on here. We just got a new set of rims for our M. The old ones had been rusted through by the fluid. The old rims had two blocks welded on the inner diameter of the rim that fit into a slot in the cast wheel center as if to key the rim to the wheel. The new rims do not have this. Should I take them to a welder and have them weld these in? Or are they no longer necessary? The tractor is still used on the farm, and is not restored. Thanks for your help.

Are they welded on, or a large rivit? I would rivit or bolt them on with a round head bolt....arnt the new rims galvanized ?

I had the same thing last week and I put it on without them, If you get all the lugs tight and arent going to use her for a super puller I think it will be ok. The one thing I ran into was the rims I got were replacment for a few different models and were 1" wider in the center so I had to get one " longer bolts to mount the wheels. $15.00 at tractor supply for 6 grade 8 plus washers and nuts. Yes, I think you need them. Otherwise it is hard to keep them from slipping.
