While it is running, with the throttle open wide, brakes locked, in neutral, adjust the screw on the bottom front of the carb in (CW) the smoke will get less and less. Keep turning (might be more than one turn) till the engine starts to stumble a little. Then screw it out till it runs nice again then 1/4 turn more. Try it under load and in operating from idle to full throttle. If it runs well, it is fixed. If not adjust so that it is not hesitating and not making smoke. If it will not quit making smoke when screwed in, the carb needs (at least) a float adjustment. Good luck,
JimN

Actually, the load adjustment screw for the H is located underneath the carb, and points down and to the rear.

That depends entirely on the model of carb, The idea ia valuable though. JimN

There was only one carb design for the H, he might confuse the bottom front with the top front, which is the idle adjustment, and get nowhere. M, Super H, Super M, etc had a completely different carb with the main screw as you described.

Could be lots of reasons - too much gas, burning oil, bad points, wrong type of spark plugs. Is your tractor smoking and if so, what color smoke. Need to get more information to help you on this one.
