When I bought my F14, the fuel system was plumbed from the fuel pump directly to the carb. This results in way to much fuel for the carb. An old timer at a tractor show explained how it should be. From the fuel pump to a pressure relief valve on the front of the gas tank, then to the carb. Is the relief valve still available, and where can i get one?

Of the 14s I have seen, none had the reief valve on the hood. The Tee isnt really a regular tee. The hole to the tank is very small. A plain tee will not work as the flow will tend to go that way instead of to the carb,I know I tried it once. Gordon Rice didnt have one at the time, but put me on to someone who had a few salvaged 14s.

That was my next question. How big is the hole in the T. Mine was plugged off. I guess I,ll find out if it is any good when I get it replumbed. Thanks for that information.

Yeah, the "relief valve" can still be found. You can get it through this website or by calling Gordon Rice at 814-226-9200. He deals in the really old Farmalls. Some F-14's have a simple Tee in the line from the fuel pump to the carb that is plumbed into the front of the fuel tank. Others have a fuel "relief valve" that pokes out through the top of the engine cover. If you have the egg shaped opening in the "hood" with two 5/16" holes on each side then you should look for the "relief valve". If you don't have this opening check to see if you have an opening that has been plugged off in the top at the front of the fuel tank.
