I have inhereted a Farmall H 1943. It has hydraulics. Does that make it a Super H? It has a screw-on gas cap. Is this correct? The inlet for the gas to go into the tank is a pipe about 1 inch tall with threads on it. It looks factory but every gas caqp I have seen do not use pipe threads. I need an expert on H's!! Thanks

Super H was not produced until 1953. Cap/inlet is not factory.

So the hydraulics doesn't make a tractor a "super"? What did? and you say the gas cap is not factory. The inlet is perfectly installed. Had to be factory. No one can weld that smoothly. Could it be from another letter tractor? Unfortunately my father-in-law has passed away or I would ask since this is a one owner tractor.

All H's and M's had hydraulics as an option. The "Stage 2" Super H and Super M had live hydraulics (I was told recently that the non-live belly pump was also an option on the Stage 2 Super M). The Supers had other features such as different locations for the controls, disk brakes, and the battery under the seat on the Stage 2's as well as the larger engines. Again, your fuel inlet was not on a factory tractor. As far as welding, I have taken parts to professional welders and the weld came back nearly invisible. So it can be done.

The Super had a change in horsepower, gearing, and disk brakes. I'd like to see a picture of the fuel tank inlet.

From all the replies, for which I sincerely appreciate, my H is not a super H. No disk brakes, no live hydraulics--the clutch has to be out to operate them. Glad to solve that question. The gas cap still remains a mystery. My wife says it has been that way for over 50 years that she knows of. She drove that tractor as a child to help her father bale hay. Yes I will post a picture and maybe that will help explain. I really appreciate everyones help.

One thing that is need to make it a super is the year. Another is haveing live hyds not hyds that only work when the cluthc pedal is out. Also a number of other thing but not sure what they are
