HELP! I have a 2606 loader/hoe industrial model from the 60s. I really need to remove the backhoe and add a PTO and 3 point setup so can use it to pull a mower deck. Is this feasible? What do i need? Does anyone out there have the PTO stuff and hitch stuff they would like to sell? Have I lost my mind? If i can find the parts to convert it i will be selling the hoe-is anyone interested? If this conversion is not worth the trouble I will be selling this monster to buy a giant mower deck and tractor with pto. So, if anyone wants a 2606 loader/hoe gimmie a shout. How much $$ should i ask for it?? Any help/advice would be great. THANKS

My advice may not be all that great, but it's free.
If the backhoe works at all well you can easily get more for the 2606 with it on there than you will pay for a similar size utility tractor and mower in the same condition. And you save what you would have spent on the conversion.
Good luck, Wm

Now this tractor may or may not have the PTO drive comming down off the pressure plate and may or may not have the shaft in it . as i do not work on the industral stuff . So the only way to tell is to pull the plate off the back and look in there to see if there is a stub shaft . Then if there is your half way home but i would bet that you will have the better part of 600-800 in getting the rest of the parts for the PTO and if ya want three point here again ya need everything . Best find a tractor.
