Fellow wants me to work on his B battery gone cables gone What is the polarity????

From the factory it was 6 volt positive ground.

What it is now, 60 plus years later? Hard to say, but Toro gave some good ways to figure it out.

If the tractor has battery ignition with a distributor, check the coil terminal wire from the coil to the distributor. The + plus terminal
wire on the coil should be to the distributor when the battery is + plus grounded. Hal

If the tractor still has the 6 volt system, the battery would be + positive grounded. Hal
