I bought some land and was told to get an H to mow with. It was doing great for a few weeks. It still starts ok and runs at low idle. The faster the idel the rougher it gets. I changed the plugs and pulled the air filter. I also noticed oil in the filter which seems to collect dirt...I hope... but what oil do you replace with? also iI have changed the gas. Any sugestions? And yes talk to me like i'm dumb because I know nothing about theese things except I want my babby back!

You may want to check the carb hold down nuts and check the intake nuts for tighteness You may have an intake leak also. JON

Use what ever oil you use in the engine for the oil cup in the aircleaner. As far as you running problem check the sediment bowl clean it out. Also after doing that pull to drain plug from the bottom of the carb and make sure you have a good glow of gas, you may get some water out of the carb when you do and if you do you probably found part it not the whole problem

Meathead, look at your fuel bowl, is there water in it, sediment?. If so clean the bowl and turn the valve on and let it run a second to make sure you have a good flow of fuel. What you describe sounds to me like a fuel problem. If the tractor was running good before and you didn't mess with the carb settings I'd bet its the fuel bowl and screen that are the problem..good luck from Mike in Exeter Ontario
